Mud, flowers, and Tevas

Can you tell that I was wearing Tevas today?

When in the jungle it is very important to stay on the right trail, because if you don’t most likely you will end up next to a creek in the middle of the thick jungle with no where to go but back, that is if you can find which trail you came down on. And probably along the way you will fall into the thick and sticky mud and then you will have to dig your shoe out of the mud and when you succeed you will have to talk over the plan of action with those that are with you. Becky thought that we should go up stream or just stand in the water and see if anyone else comes. Gene decided that we should splash through the creek and see what was on the other side, I didn’t know what to do and thought that this was terribly exciting..."Lost in the Jungle”…Becky was busy getting her foot out of the sinking mud and Pema was trying to get across the creek without falling in. We decided that Gene’s idea sounded the best. So across the creek we went…then we decided that there was no way that anyone could have come this way, there were no footprints, no broken branches…we decided to find the trail that we came down and look for other trails that we might have missed…We did end up finding the right trail and then after awhile we caught up with the others in our group…Now I like cliff jumping to an extent…but something that is 30ft high just doesn’t make me want to throw myself off the cliff and into the water below…it gives me the opposite effect…I want to run the other way…the lifeguard side of me kicks in and it talked me out of jumping…instead I slid down the bank and fell into the river water. Which was rather refreshing and cold, Becky and I swam around in the water looking through Cable’s goggles at the fish…we were like “Fish…Fish…ohhh look a Raz, those are rather rare in these parts” and we started laughing about it and when Raz came up for air we started laughing and then told him why we were laughing.
And yet again the guys tried to find something higher to throw themselves off of. The cliff just wasn’t high enough, but the tree that hung over the cliff was…so they would climb the tree and then they would jump off the tree and into the water below…Mark did back flips off the cliff and they were perfect, Raz would dive in (how he can do perfect dives off like 25 ft is beyond me), Rusty took a bunch of leaves and flapped his arms like a bird when he jumped, very funny to see.
It was really fun, and not that long of a walk to the waterfall…even with having a flower war on the way up…no really it was so cool…there are like these cone shaped flowers that hold water so they are like natural water balloons and when you throw them at people they burst. So the guys found them thanks to Mr. B…I decided to nail Raz with one before he got me…he never got me back…but I did slip in a lot of mud because I was laughing so hard, which made Raz laugh and then Becky and I would laugh at him when he lost his flip flops in the mud…which usually meant we weren’t paying attention, so we would fall into the mud…so by the time we got to the River we were very muddy, but we had just had so much fun that we didn’t care, at least I didn’t.
